The March Hub City Book Club will discuss In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson. In the Garden of Beasts is a stunning look at German politics in the years leading up to World War II. Larson expertly tells the story of William Dodd, the newly appointed US ambassador to Germany, and his wild and carefree daughter Martha. These two stories coupled give us a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of pre-war Germany and illustrate flawlessly how enormous atrocity is born from many small moments of apathy.
