Join us for a two-day Travel Study trip to the Biltmore Estate and the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. This excursion offers an immersive exploration of two of Asheville's most iconic landmarks, each with a rich history tied to the region's cultural and social development.
The trip will be led by Diane Vecchio, Professor Emerita of History at Furman University. Professor Vecchio will provide insight into the era of Golden Age extravagance, focusing on the Vanderbilt family and the Biltmore Estate. Her discussions will illuminate the opulence of the period and the significant impact the Vanderbilts had on Asheville and beyond.
