Hub City Bookshop is a full-service independent bookstore that serves our organization's mission to "cultivate readers and nurture writers." We are located in an historic Masonic Temple in downtown Spartanburg and for the past decade, together with our neighbor Little River Coffee Bar, we have helped grow our small city into a vibrant, cultural hub where books are cherished and authors are revered.
We specialize in Southern literature, literary fiction and nonfiction, history, children's books and, of course, Hub City Press titles. All proceeds fund our creative writing education, community outreach, and publishing. We have twice been named one of the "South's Best Bookstores" by Southern Living magazine and in 2019 we were humbled to be selected "Bookstore of the Year" by the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance.
The bookshop hosts over 100 events a year, most of them free and open to the public. You can read more about our bookclubs and our community outreach initiatives below.
Bookshop.org is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores. They have a broad inventory and offer a portion of their sales to the independent bookstore of your choice.
