Hub City Opens Submissions Until February 1

Hub City Press, one of the South's premier independent literary presses, has re-opened submissions for a special Winter Reading Period that will close February 1, 2016. All writers seeking to publish their work with Hub City Press will be able to submit query letters to the Hub City editorial team during this time. During this reading period, we will accept queries for literary novels only.
Per our submission guidelines, we are seeking well-crafted, high-quality novels by new and established authors, with an emphasis on the Southern experience. We are particularly interested in books with a strong sense of place. We believe that the publishing industry needs to promote a more diverse range of experiences and are seeking out lesser-heard Southern voices. We are looking for fresh Southern stories that haven't been heard before.
Recent Hub City novels include: Over the Plain Houses (forthcoming in May 2016), Minnow (winner of the South Carolina First Novel Prize and one of Kirkus Reviews 18 Best Debut Novels of 2015), and The Whiskey Baron.
We do not accept submissions in the following categories: romance, science fiction, true crime, mystery, cookbooks, how-to books, horror/paranormal or specific-religion inspirational books.
