Help Hub City Press move into a larger space!

Help Hub City Press move into a larger space! image

Hub City Press has recently been presented with an opportunity to secure a much larger space in downtown Spartanburg, a short walk from the Hub City Bookshop. This location not only offers necessary office space for our staff but also workshop rooms to serve our literary community and much-needed storage for our 140+ title Press backlist. We look forward to sharing more about the space soon!

The good news: a community member has stepped up and generously agreed to match donations up to $6500, half of what we need to make this move and upfit the new space. We need your help to raise $6500 to make this dream a reality.

When we moved to 200 Ezell Street (known affectionately as our Annex) in 2020, we had just two full-time staff members in a 600-square-foot office--now we have four people working in the same space. Your donation will directly contribute to renovating the space to meet our needs and cover the initial costs of relocation. This new space will not only accommodate our organization’s current needs but also allow us to expand our programs and reach even more writers in the community.

With the help of donors nationwide, the Hub City Writers Project has become a cultural cornerstone of the South and one of the most substantial literary organizations in the country. Hub City Press books appear in the New York Times, People Magazine, on PBS NewsHour, and many other national newspapers and magazines. The Hub City Bookshop, featured recently in USA Today, is one of the most established retail outlets in our expanding downtown.

As we approach our 30th anniversary, we invite you to be a part of this new chapter and help the Hub City Writers Project raise $6500 this month to make this possible. Your tax-deductible donation of any size is greatly appreciated. Everyone who donates will receive a sticker and note of thanks from us.
